Cold/Cough remedy

It seems like this time of year everyone is sick. Almost everyone I know has been hit with some kind of illness (cold related).  It has been colds, coughs, runny noses, ear infections and worst of all sore throat! The worst part about having a cold/cough/sniffles/sore throat is that if you go to the doctor, even if you feel like you might die, they’ll say the same thing to you.  I’m sorry, this is a virus and there really isn’t anything we can do. Just try and treat the symptoms.

Past couple weeks cough kept me up at night. Cough caused by the flu/common cold and having asthma make me feel even sicker. With asthma, a cough always lasts longer than for “normal” people. Well, there is a prescription but since I hate medication I decided I needed something………hot and soothing.  And all natural.

Here is my favorite home remedy excellent old-fashioned-but-it-works common cold/cough suppressant. Lemon is an excellent source of Vitamin C and the hot water causes you to sweat, thus getting rid of the virus that much faster. Honey Lemon Ginger Tea

 Prep Time: 5 minutesCook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

•1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger (no need to peel it)

•1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice

•1 Tbsp. honey, plus more to taste

 Preparation:

1. Put the ginger in a tea pot or medium bowl. Pour 1 cup boiling water over it and let it steep for       3 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, put the lemon juice and the honey in a large mug. Strain the ginger tea into the mug.

3. Stir to dissolve the honey, taste, and add more honey or lemon juice if you like.

Stay warm

Coffee,Tea.. Detox

Happy Friday, Happy November 1st:

I heard so many people say coffee helps you lose weight. In theory caffeine in coffee acts as an appetite suppressant and a metabolism booster. Reality of it coffee may temporarily take away our appetite, but couple of cups a day won’t have enough of an effect to help you lose weight.

It’s just myth, coffee can’t help you lose weight. Plus, putting too much coffee into our system can lead to anxiety, sleeplessness, and an increase in heart rate and blood pressure.  if you’re one of those like me who is somewhat coffee addict or enjoy 1,2 cups just reduce whatever you’re adding to the brew sugar or cream.

Best advice: I think tea (Green tea) works way better if you want to lose weight or whole body/Digestion cleansing. It’s been proven to prevent some illnesses because it contains antioxidants and antiviral. Drinking a few times a month, can help reduce plague and bacteria, strengthen body, also help prevent getting food poisoning. Now day’s people use it to fight cancer, dementia, diabetes and heart disease, also lowers cholesterol levels. Great! What’s better than having clean purify whole body, circulatory system, complexion, and helps you lose weight, also improves metabolism. Awesome!!
